Frog Hollow was a wonderful old-fashioned toy shop tucked away in the backstreets of Kensington. When the shop closed in the early 90s a little girl called Alexandra was so upset that her father – the artist Gordon French - painted a picture of Frog Hollow surrounded by some of its most beloved characters.
In 1995 Gordon opened Gallery 19 and produced a Limited Edition of the original painting for Kensington locals and Frog Hollow lovers and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Gallery 19 Gordon painted another version of Frog Hollow…in an imaginary location underground in Kensington Gardens near Queen Caroline's temple, accessed by a spiral staircase in the trunk of a large tree.
Almost twenty years on Gallery 19 is proud to present a new giclee print of Frog Hollow based on the much loved original. Welcome home Frog Hollow!
