Architecture, Kensington and Italy are the three themes responsible for the Gallery 19 look. Specializing in architectural views and stunning details Gallery 19 produces, commissions or hand-sources every work in its collection. Precedence is placed on the image rather than the medium and Gallery 19 maintains a philosophy of hanging beautifully framed prints next to original paintings. Gallery 19 represents a small stable of artists who paint architecturally and whose work can be found among antique engravings, reproduction maps, limited edition prints, black & white photographs and unique mixed media pieces.
The Gallery 19 Collection is a body of work which is exclusive to Gallery 19. All works in this collection are by Gordon French and are produced as giclee prints. An archival giclee is a method of printmaking used to produce high-quality imahes from a digital source by ink-jet printing, The fade-resistant 'archival' ink is sprayed onto the media in millions of colours utilizing continuous tone technology to create fine art prints. A giclee print should last for over 100 years.
Anyone who has visited Gallery 19 will be familiar with the photography of Alessia either through her black&white limited editions or the wooden strawberry box in the window full of her handmade cards. Gallery 19 has now given Alessia her own wall in the gallery dedicated to her "iconic and overlooked" series. Analogue & digital, medium-format, polaroids & instagrams. The theme of the wall changes periodically but the essence is always a conbination of the iconic and overlooked, a celebration of the ordinary and the extraordinary, as captured through the lens of Alessia.
